Gabe Weinert, senior vice president, joined Walker & Dunlop in 2014 through the Johnson Capital acquisition where Mr. Weinert lead the Opportunistic Finance Group, the division of the company which focused on providing structured investment banking services to real estate operators and development projects by raising institutional joint venture equity, structured debt, and co-investment GP equity. Mr. Weinert brings over 15 years’ experience to the capital markets team. Throughout his career, Mr. Weinert was responsible for the asset management and origination of over $2B in structured real estate finance transactions.
Prior to joining Johnson Capital, Mr. Weinert managed the west coast office for the Carlton Group. Prior thereto, Mr. Weinert was an investment officer with Emigrant Bank, as well as with a Lehman Brothers sponsored opportunistic investor, TVP Asset, Inc. Earlier in his career, he was part of the acquisitions group of Heitman Capital Management, and also worked at JP Morgan and UBS Warburg in their CMBS and derivatives trading divisions.
Mr. Weinert received a B.B.A. in finance from the University of Michigan – Ross School of Business graduating with high honors and an M.B.A. from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) – Anderson School of Management.
