As Vice President of Housing for Brookfield Residential Southern California, John O’Brien brings experience, professional focus and personal enthusiasm to this important position. His extensive responsibilities include working closely with the Brookfield Residential team to manage land acquisitions, community and housing design, entitlements, construction, marketing, sales, product development and overall financial performance of the division’s housing business.
John is committed to supporting a creative and innovative culture that produces the highest results in a team-oriented environment. He is also actively involved in the communities where Brookfield Residential transforms properties into vital residential neighborhoods. John’s passion for building strong communities that offer families a sense of place to plan for the future has been deepened by his devotion to his young family.
Prior to joining Brookfield Residential 13 years ago, John was employed with Catellus Residential Group as a project manager. He earned a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the University of Arizona and a Masters in Urban and Regional Planning from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. He is also a licensed California landscape architect.
John’s professional and community affiliations include the CRA housing committee, Urban Land Institute, BIA, NAHB and membership on the Board of Directors for the Anaheim Boys and Girls Club. He also serves as the Finance Chair on the Board of Directors for the Muzeo Foundation.
