Erik Foster joined Avison Young (Chicago) in 2012 as Principal of Industrial Capital Markets.
Erik oversees a national team providing asset advisory disposition, equity sourcing, development capitalization and sale-leaseback services to a wide range of institutional and privately held commercial property owners across North America. He has completed transactions valued at more than $4 Billion and established a strong track record of investment sales success and has solidified long term relationships with leading institutional and regional commercial real estate owners. Unique to the investment sales practice, Erik also has a keen understanding of the asset leasing business as a result of his experience as a successful leasing broker of office and industrial property. During his career, he has been engaged to represent institutions, funds, regional entities and offshore clients. Prior to joining Avison Young, Erik was consistently the National Top Producer in Industrial Investment Sales at Grubb & Ellis where he was Senior Vice-President and Director of the Institutional Capital Markets Group.
Erik has a solid track record in the industrial, healthcare and office property sectors and is frequently selected to advise institutional investors on sales of multi-market portfolios and individual asset assignments throughout the U.S. and internationally.
Erik is a CCIM and active in ULI and NAIOP. He is also the winner of Investment Broker of the Year by the Chicago Sun-Times and a consistent finalist in Chicago and other US markets of the prestigious NAIOP Investment Sales Award.
