As Executive Director of the Texas/Colorado Region for USAA Real Estate Company, Carrington Brown is responsible for the region’s involvement in acquisitions, development/build-to-suits, joint ventures, and capital transactions which includes senior debt, mezzanine, and preferred equity financing structures. He oversees all aspects of the deal process including sourcing transactions, market and property underwriting, due diligence and closing. In addition, Carrington has responsibility for USAA’s Healthcare Investments initiative nationally.
Prior to joining USAA, Carrington Brown was a Vice President and Team Leader for Wells Fargo in their Dallas, Commercial Real Estate lending group, where he sourced debt financing to institutional clients. In this role, Carrington was responsible for business development, underwriting, loan documentation, and portfolio management for acquisitions, development, note financings, and lines of credit. During his eight years with the company, Carrington originated over $2Bn in commercial real estate transactions.
Before joining Wells Fargo, Carrington was a Senior Portfolio Manager for Key Bank Real Estate Capital. Carrington began his career with PNC in their credit training program.
Carrington earned an undergraduate degree in Finance with a Real Estate concentration from Texas Christian University where he was also a lettermen and captain of the men’s soccer team. Carrington earned his MBA from Southern Methodist University’s Cox School of Business. He is a member of the NAIOP – North Texas Chapter, and Vice-Chair of the NAIOP Capital Markets Forum Group IV.
