David Sotolov

David Sotolov joined Annaly Capital Management in 2018 as a Managing Director in the Commercial Real Estate Group where he oversees investment activity across the Western US. Prior to that, he was an Executive Vice President and Head of West Coast Investments for iStar, Inc. from 2007 through 2018. During his time at iStar, Mr. Sotolov was responsible for sourcing new investments as well as managing iStar’s portfolio of real estate loans, investments, and owned assets throughout California, Nevada, Arizona, Texas and the Pacific NW. Early in his career, Mr. Sotolov spent eight years with Fremont Investment & Loan where he initially held various positions in the Asset Management group and ultimately served as Senior Vice President, Loan Originator. Throughout his career, Mr. Sotolov has successfully originated in excess of $2 billion in senior & subordinate financings and equity investments, and managed & restructured multiple loans with an aggregate exposure exceeding $1 billion. In addition, Mr. Sotolov has facilitated the transition of multiple non-performing loans to real estate owned, and subsequently managed the development, re-entitlement, repositioning, lease-up and/or sales of those projects.
