Nicholas Ilagan is Vice President, Asset Management, at CapRock Partners, where he is responsible for overall asset management of the firm’s portfolio of assets. Ilagan also is charged with the management of all owned and third-party managed assets, as well as with developing and implementing business plans for each investment.
Ilagan joined CapRock Partners in 2016, after serving as a strategic consultant to the company for a year. During that year, Nicholas created the company’s internal property management platform and transitioned all company-owned assets to in-house management.
Prior to working with CapRock Partners, Ilagan served as Vice President and National Director of Management Services for Sperry Van Ness International Corporation, supervising a third-party management portfolio comprised of more than 40 million square feet of commercial, just under 25,000 units of multifamily and nearly 10,000 student housing beds. During his tenure with Sperry Van Ness, Ilagan implemented the management platform used by the firm’s 180+ offices serving more than 225 markets.
In addition, Ilagan led the company to be named the 8th Top Property Manager in the nation by Commercial Property Executive Magazine and was individually recognized as one of “Tomorrow’s Leaders” by Real Estate Forum Magazine.
Ilagan’s previous experience includes asset management for the Automobile Club of Southern California and their corporate real estate and leased assets throughout California and Texas. Ilagan also has served as Vice President of Property Management for CT Realty Investors, where he was responsible for establishing the management platform and transitioning owned assets in-house.
Ilagan began his commercial real estate career with TechSpace in Aliso Viejo, where he spearheaded operations for a technology-driven office campus providing office space and services to more than 2,000 employees on a daily basis.
Ilagan received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance from Chapman University, where he was named the Ralph Leatherby Center for Entrepreneurship and Ethics “Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year.” Ilagan holds his California Real Estate Salesperson license and is a member of the Institute of Real Estate (IREM) and Building Owner and Managers Association (BOMA).
