It’s Complicated

The Bay Area: Decoding A Complex Market

Despite years of spectacular job and population growth, the Bay Area is currently faced with a major housing crisis, stagnant office market stymied by years of inactivity, and overburdened transit system struggling to meet the needs of a rapidly growing population. Yet the Bay Area remains a bright spot for investors and developers alike. New players and major stakeholders have entered the market with ambitious, new projects destined to forever change the area.

Connect Bay Area shines the spotlight on one of the nation’s most complex and active markets.

It is critical that we all take the emerging challenge presented by the Coronavirus seriously. We should remain calm and await more information to be provided by health experts. Clearly, there needs to be an awareness of the potential impact on the CRE industry from an economic perspective. We are watching the rapidly evolving situation to determine the best approach to our business and prepare plans based on information and recommendations from health officials. We ask those planning to attend conferences take the necessary precautions to help prevent the spread of the virus. We will look for ways to help educate those in the CRE industry and work with our event venue partners to create the safest environment possible. Some of the recommendations to protect yourself offered by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO) include:
  • Frequently wash hands with soap and water or alcohol-based hand sanitizer
  • Avoid touching your nose, eyes or mouth without first washing your hands
  • Use tissue when sneezing or coughing and dispose of immediately
  • Avoid close contact with individuals showing signs of fever or persistent cough
If you don’t feel well take all of the above steps and
  • Seek the advice of your doctor and call ahead for appointments
  • Refrain from unnecessary contact with family members or pets
  • Stay home or work remotely
